Congratulations on your admission to UCI as a Bio Sci major! We are excited to meet you at Celebrate UCI, the annual campus open house event, happening on Saturday, April 19, 2025!

Programs of Study
Please visit the link above to see the various programs of study that are offered within our School. *Admitted students can only enter in as the following majors: Biological Sciences, Biology/Education and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Students can change their majors to other specialized majors, once requirements are met.
► 1st Year Programs
- Learning Communities : All first-year students will automatically be enrolled in a Dunlop Bio Sci Learning Community. To promote student success, small communities of first-year students will take all required Bio Sci courses together in Fall.
- Bio Sci 2A is the cornerstone of the Dunlop Bio Sci Learning Community experience. Bio 2A/2B focuses on bringing campus resources to first year students and helping them prepare for their future goals. Follow the Bio 2A/2B discussion leaders on Instagram.
- Enhanced Academic Success Experience (EASE) Initiative: The Enhanced Academic Success Experience (EASE) initiative intends to promote academic success for first-year students in the Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences. This program is invitation only and invitations will be sent in May. Check out the EASE Instagram.
► Transfer Student Support
- Bio Sci 190: Weekly meetings consisting of presentations by faculty, professional staff, and New Student Peer Academic Advisors provide information about the School of Biological Sciences, campus resources, and special programs/opportunities.

Pre-Health/Professional Advisement
Bio Sci Academic Advisors serve as Pre-Health Advisors on the UCI campus. We help students plan for health professions by advising them on prerequisites, course planning, how to get involved and be competitive, etc.

Bio Sci Peer Academic Advisors
Bio Sci Peer Academic Advisors are current upper classmen who can help you with:
- Academic planning
- Referrals to campus resources
- How to get involved on campus – clubs, research, etc.
- Sharing their own experiences

Campus Tutoring Resources
Free peer tutoring is available in several departments across campus to support student success.

- *LARC is the paid service on campus, which offers small group tutorials. They also offer complimentary workshops on time management/testing taking, etc.
