What is Donuts with the Dean?

UC Irvine BioSci’s Donuts with the Dean is a quarterly event for Dunlop School undergrads. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to connect with Dunlop School Dean Frank LaFerla! We also typically invite a special guest to attend, ranging from medical doctors, pharmacists, biotech experts, research scientists, and more!

Each quarter we have a different guest join us, so even if you have attended Donuts with the Dean before, there are always new opportunities to meet different experts who can share their experiences, insights, and career opportunities in the field of biology. So bring your questions, grab a donut, and get to know some amazing people in BioSci, as well as your own peers!

Quarterly Event

Dunlop School hosts Donuts with the Dean 3 times a year, typically within the first couple weeks of the new quarter. A perfect way to start your quarter off right!

“I loved getting to hear from Dr. Khan about his work with the positional MRI and just his overall path in school. I also loved meeting new people who share similar interests and goals as me. I was able to talk to some of the faculty about research being done in their labs and ask questions about getting involved in research. Overall, it was a positive experience! I think it’s a great event the bio sci community puts together for students!”

“It was nice to have a chance to listen in on a UC Irvine Dunlop School alumni, and hear about his own struggles and experiences as a First Gen. I felt both motivated and inspired by all the professors I had the opporunity to listen in on, and have been introduced to the wide variety of research available on campus.”
