About

I obtained my B.S. degree in Biological Sciences on 2012 from the University of California, Irvine. While an undergrad I did research at the UCI Medical Center in Orange assessing preoperative anxiety levels on patients from different ethnicities and economic backgrounds. Then, I focused my research efforts on microbiology, specifically antibiotic resistance found in bacteria collected from aquatic environments. After my graduation I did research abroad in King’s College London for the 2016 Summer on cell migration. In Fall 2016, I returned to UCI to start my graduate degree in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Department where I got my M.S. in 2019 and I am currently a PhD Candidate. My research focuses on human gut microbiomes.

Personal Interests

I enjoy walks on the beach, mentoring students, watching movies, and traveling.
