BioSci 199 Undergraduate Research

Bio Sci 199 offers undergraduate students the chance to engage in hands-on research under the mentorship of a professor while earning academic credit. With over 250 labs in the Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences and the School of Medicine, students gain valuable lab or clinical skills and contribute to groundbreaking research. By participating in events like UROP and SURP, students can even get published and showcase their work.

Undergraduate Excellence in Research Program

The Excellence in Research Program at UC Irvine offers undergraduate students a transformative opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. Working with top-tier scientists and state-of-the-art facilities, students contribute to cutting-edge research and can present their findings at the Undergraduate Research Symposium. Successful participants receive the prestigious “Excellence in Research” designation and have their work published in the Journal of Undergraduate Research in the Biological Sciences, setting the stage for their future careers.
