Applying for a change of major within the Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences:
- All course, grade, and GPA requirements must be satisfied before applying for the change of major. You can reference these requirements at:
Requirements - Change of major applications are submitted via Student Access
- Click on the “Applications” link
- Click on “Change of Major”
- Check off the box to indicate you want to drop your current major
- Select the major you want to change to
- Upcoming Change of Major Workshops – Are you interested in changing your major to Bio Sci? Come to this info session to learn about the change of major (or double major) requirements, when to apply, as well as other school/major requirements.

Applying for a double major:
- Use the Change of Major application in Student Access

- Do not check off the box to indicate you want to drop your current major

Change of Major Application Timeline
Applications for COM to Biological Sciences, Biology/Education, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, and Developmental & Cell Biology can be submitted after quarterly grades are posted to students’ transcripts until Friday of Week 2 of the current quarter. These applications are reviewed during the first two weeks of each quarter.
Applications for COM to all other Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences majors are reviewed after Spring quarter grades are released.

- Genetics
- Human Biology
- Microbiology & Immunology
- Neurobiology
*Note: Supplemental applications are required and will be sent to applicants after the initial applications are submitted via Student Access.

**The only majors that require supplemental applications are Biochem & Molecular Bio, and Exercise Sciences.
Applying for a change of major outside the Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences

Change of Major - It is recommended that you meet with an academic advisor or peer academic advisor in the School that offers the major you wish to change into to create a feasible plan.
